Here's a couple of photos I snapped in an attempt to make a new header, that did't make it! I hope you like the new one! It's been a long time since I 'dressed up' for photos, but it was the only productive thing that happened in my life today, haha!

VLOG: Messy Apartment Tour
Here is the shaky I-just-moved-in-12-hours-ago-and-everything-is-crap-Apartment Tour! Everything is just kind of messy, and that is just how things are sometimes. Hope you guys don't get completely scared off :)

VLOG: First day back in DK
I just got home from my exchange in Seattle, WA, USA. It's wonderful being home with my family, but also a lot of things to get used to all over again. Just some thoughts on being back here.
And then there is a SUPER energetic puppy!

Sunday in Seattle
Last Sunday was my last in Seattle before going back home to Denmark. W and I had talked about doing some touristy stuff and since I'd never been to the Space Needle that was our goal. Unfortunately, we chose the worst day this entire winter and weren't able to see anything. One thing that is cool though, is that there were no line. Also, did you know that it is much cheaper for King Country residents? We started the day at a brunch place nearby and it was great. After visiting the Needle, we made our way to touristy Pike Place and then we took bus 7 all the way down to visit W's favorite taco truck... I'll show you the photos from the truck in an upcoming post! What a great last weekend day in beautiful (but grey) Seattle.

VIDEO: AskGalapril: Shampoo, Rubberbands and Beads
What shampoo do you use for your dreadlocks?
How did you stop/start washing them?
How do I use rubber bands?
How do I use beads in my dreads?
Taco Tuesday
One of the best things about moving to Seattle (and the States in general) is that over here, you've got your tacos and other Mexican. In Denmark, apparently no one ever managed to import more authentic tacos. They are generally served in giant burrito tortillas or hard maize shells, only contains ground beef with store-bought spices and is served with only lettuce and big slices of tomato - and sometimes with cheese, which is not usually found up here (unless you're eating quesadillas or wet burritos - but not in tacos!). ALL WRONG. I feel so sad about all the wonderful Mexican food I've been missing out on. I've been trying to eat a lot of tacos (and burritos and quesadillas and taquitos) while I've been here. They are usually $1-$1.20 after all.
Later on, I'll be posting some of my taco pictures from the last six months, but today I'll just be showing you tacos I made for lunch today. I really don't want to call them tacos and possibly offend the real taco masters, but they were good and cheap and easy to make!
These tacos have beef fried up in a chili oil with paprika, mustard seeds, coriander and cumin.. Some salt, is added and that is about it. It is spicy and greasy and it is good, even though it is not a typical taco meat. I was unfortunately almost out of pico de gallo and had no more vegetables, so there is only a tiny bit on here. Chili sauce goes on and so does a mountain of cilantro. Yes, please!! A little bit of sour cream today - which normally doesn't go on there, and we are good to go! I'm not saying this is how to make it, but it is definitely a delicious upgrade from cardboard maize shells, no spices and lettuce!

VIDEO: Dreadlocks Update 6 Years!
In the beginning of December, my dreadlocks turned 6 years. To honor this, I decided to make a crappy video with me swinging my hair and not really talking about anything! I hope you enjoy! ;)

Dogpark Days
I'm spending my days with this wonderful doggie at the Blue Dog Park. It's a nice walk down through Madrona to the south, towards Massachusetts. He gets all muddied up and needs to get a bath afterwards. It is worth it though, seeing a happy dog digging holes and running around having fun. I'm not sure he agrees, that bathtime is worth it ;)

New Year's Eve
I wanted to tell you a little bit about my New Year's this year. I was celebrating it with my S.O. and it was great. New Year's in the States is quite different from how we would normally celebrate it, but we ended up having a beautiful day and I really enjoyed it. W was working a half day and since I'm staying at his house for the last couple of days before I move back home, I'm on doggie duty. Which is absolutely wonderful, when you have such a great dog to hang out with. We went for a walk in Madrona, which is W's neighborhood and a wonderful area.
It is an absolute privilege to live in a city with saltwater and lakes all around, where you get to see the mountains every day (when the sky is clear, that is, hmmm) and with a lot of beautiful streets and neighborhoods to walk. 36th St and E Terrace are some of my favorite streets in the city, beautiful views, beautiful homes and a great atmosphere.
In the photo below you see Mount Rainier.. It was not fully clear, but on clear days it is easy seen, even though it is so far away. So beautiful.. Did you guys know, that University of Washington actually owns the rights to the view of the mountain from campus? Pretty cool, huh?
When we talk about the weather, we ask 'is the mountain out?', talking about Mount Rainier.. If you're in doubt, you can always check the awesome Twitter profile IsMtRainierOut
This is the view from Madrona to downtown.. Pretty huh?
When this wonderful one got of work, we headed out for an early dinner reservation at Rockcreek Seafood in Fremont. It was a great experience, I would definitely recommend it...
I have yet to go to the Space Needle before I leave.. It is such a touristy thing to do, haha.. We're planning to go this weekend though, just to cross it off the list..
Oysters.. Sister's Point and Shigoku
Tuna Tartare... I don't eat a lot of tuna because of the methyl-mercury - and because there are so many other great fish to eat.. But this was good!
W had Icelandic Char with lentils and greens..
And I had the most wonderful MSC-certified patagonian toothfish. While it is absolutely delicious, it is important to notice that you shouldn't be eating toothfish (also known as Chilean Seabass) unless it is certified, since it is red-listed.
My warmest recommendations to Rock Creek Seafood Seattle, we had a great time! Later in the night we took the bus to 15th and walked to Thomas.. There is a great spot in Capitol Hill for looking at fireworks from the Space Needle... No photos from that, unfortunately... We went to Liberty Seattle, an award-winning bar, with a very unique profile, met up with some friends and had fun the rest of the night... I hope you enjoyed your New Year's Eve and got safely and happy into 2015, and I wish you all a happy New Year!
