I love hotdogs. Who doesn't? It is such a simple and delicious food - I know it not LCHF or in any way healthy(except for the mind), but I think it is rather important to not worry about healthy all-the-time. Sometimes I nice hotdog will do you just fine. Denmark is renowned for our "Pølsevogne". Carts where hotdogs, sausages and sometimes other grill-foods are served over the counter. I read that we had 400 of those at one time - That's quite a lot when you only have 1400 cities(and a city at least containt 200 people)!
The Danish hotdog is normally condimented with ketchup, mustad and remoulade, along with raw onions, roasted onions and pickled dill cucumbers. I really like the taste of red onions, so I swap for those. I also am not a fan of pickled cucumbers, at all, but if you make them, you can swap for whatever you want. I bet they'll also be great with a vegan sausage, for you out there :)
What is your favorite way to eat a hot dog?
None of it. I love oatmeal :))
ReplyDeleteHaha, okay then ;)
DeleteJeg elsker franske hotdogs med ketchup men jeg er os utrolig kræsen.
ReplyDeleteLige nu bor jeg i england og herover har vi rigtig nogen pølsevogne desværre.
Its great to have you back Anna. I've missed your blog. :)
Det er også altid godt! Ja, der er mange der siger, de savner det når de er udenlands :)
DeleteThank you very much - I've missed being here!
I'm from Los Angeles and we're known for bacon-wrapped hot dogs with different bell peppers on top! :) They're usually sold on the streets downtown usually by a lady with a cart.
ReplyDeleteOh I've heard about that! That also sounds really nice. We kind of always make them the same way - It could be fun trying out some new things!
DeleteI though you were vegan (not because of the dreads, of course, I read it somewhere). :D
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people think that! I have posted a few "vegan-friendly" recipes, but I'm not vegan and neeevaaarh will be. Too much of a meat and dairy-lover to be vegan! :) I've talked about conscious eating before on the blog and would gladly do it again, though ;)
DeleteI'm from NYC, ya know.. the little town famous for the hot-dog stands every other (or every) block? They're great! I like mine just with ketchup :) Getting them from the hotdog/pretzel stands is a fairly good option, but recently I bit into one that was disgusting (a chunk of I don't know what was in there. blehhh). So for now, I'm sticking to cooking them on the grill. Those are the BEST.
ReplyDeleteLove your new blogging style/set-up :)
peace sister!

Oh you poor darling. I hate it when stuff like that happens and you become really scared of eating something great ;p But yes, it is great when you make them at home and can use whatever kind you like :)
DeleteAnd thank you! Have a nice day!
